EPALLOY 8240 is a very low viscosity epoxy phenol novolac resin with low hydrolyzable chloride content and a high degree of reactivity. It is non-crystallizing and compatible with all standard curatives and most resin systems and solvents. Formulations based on EPALLOY 8240 exhibit outstanding chemical resistance. 8240 is recommended for use in room temperature cure, 100% solids coatings and trowelable flooring formulations Improvements in resistance to concentrated acids and aggressive solvents will occur. 8240's exceptionally low hydrolyzable chlorides make it the preferred material for electronic encapsulants and laminates where higher temperature resistance is required. Blends of EPALLOY 8240 with standard epoxidized Bisphenol A based resins are an excellent way to impart resistance to crystallization. These blends will exhibit superior cured properties compared to conventional diluted DGEBA resins.
