Global Demand for RLP Drives Plant Expansion Project
CVC Thermoset Specialties, an Emerald Performance Materials Company, is expanding the Akron, Ohio facility where the Hypro™ Reactive Liquid Polymers (RLP) are manufactured. The company has undertaken this investment in its infrastructure in response to growing double-digit global demand for its Hypro™ RLP and HyPox™ R series products, which are specialty epoxy materials modified using CTBN RLP.

HyproTM Glycidyl Ester Product Series Deliver High Impact, Peel Strength to Epoxy Resins
CVC Thermoset Specialties, an Emerald Performance Materials Company, announces the introduction of a new glycidyl ester product line. The company’s patent-pending technology addresses a need in the marketplace for impact modifiers that deliver both high peel strength and high impact strength while maintaining a high Tg in the epoxy matrix. The new products provide effective alternatives to traditional core-shell and high molecular weight non-epoxy type polyols used as impact modifiers, which may offer either high impact or high peel adhesion but typically are not delivered optimally.

Kalama™ K-FLEX® 850S Offers Economical, Environmentally Friendly Solution. Emerald Kalama Chemical announces a new plasticizer, Kalama™ K-FLEX® 850S, to meet the performance challenges of today’s adhesives, PVC compounds, coatings, and other latex polymer applications. Kalama K-FLEX dibenzoate ester plasticizers are highly effective, low VOC, non-phthalate, non-alkyl phenol ethoxylate (APE-free) plasticizers that are compatible with a wide range of polymers including, acrylic, styrene acrylic, styrene butadiene (SB), vinyl acetate (PVA), vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE), PVC, and plastisol systems.
