Abstract:
Oily residue is a commonly encountered problem when treating metal surfaces, especially surfaces with complex shapes where rinse off can be a problem. Water borne primers can show visible defects where contaminants are encountered and can lead to coatings failure or a high rate of appearance rejects. Emerald Performance Materials is proud to introduce a novel organically modified silicone additive to remedy this problem. Emerald’s new additive, MASIL® P412, is shown to enhance adhesion and appearance even over grossly contaminated metal.
