Silicones offer a variety of physical/ chemical properties that make them valuable as lubricants or functional components in lubricant systems. Silicones offer a wide temperature range of operation and low surface tension that allows wetting of a variety of surfaces including plastics. Emerald’s MASIL® silicones can be used alone or as part of a formulated system. They can be used in solvent based aerosol sprays or can wiped onto a surface. Emerald’s MASIL® EM and NO STIK® silicone emulsions can be delivered as received or diluted into aqueous systems. These are used in plastic or rubber lubrication, offering wear protection, anti-blocking, release, and scratch / mar protection. Typical applications are in paper making and food conveyor systems. Emerald offers several organo modified silicones that provide special lubrication properties. These alkyl modified materials are specially designed to provide greatly improved lubrication on plastics and rubber and expanded utility in formulated lubricants.
