Emerald has a long legacy in nitrile emulsion chemistry through its predecessor organizations - BFGoodrich, Noveon and Lubrizol. The ISO-9001 certified manufacturing facility in Akron, OH began manufacturing synthetic rubber as a part of the U.S. Government effort to develop our own reserves of key strategic feedstocks during World War II. B.F. Goodrich was a leader in this effort. Since the inception of this technology, we have continued to be a key supplier of specialty nitrile waterbased emulsions.
Nychem™ nitrile products cover a comprehensive line of emulsion products that provide a combination of properties that are superior to other polymers, including: oil-, solvency- and caustic-resistance; toughness; tear- and abrasion-resistance; wash durability; and elasticity and stretch. This line of products is tailored to various applications based upon ratio of the main monomers, cross-linking monomers present, and surfactant type used.
For more information on our products, you may view our selection by product family - high acrylonitrile, medium acrylonitrile or specialty emulsions (SB, ABS etc.) or navigate by application for a list of suggested products for various end-uses such as coal tar emulsions, gaskets, paper applications and many more.
